ADI Recognised at the Cast Metals Federation Awards 2022

Recognition for the potential of ADI in lightweighting at the CMF Awards 2022

ADI were pleased to receive recognition for their contribution in a joint venture to improve the lightweighting of a Lift Arm at the recent CMF Awards 22

A partnership between Atkinson Vos Ltd, Lancaster University, The Boro Foundry, ADI Treatments Ltd and Partline Ltd, the project led to the conversion of a 9-piece fabricated steel 3-Point Linkage Power Lift Arm to a 1-piece ADI casting.

Atkinson Vos, working with final year engineering students at Lancaster University, developed the first design iteration (which was a steel casting) but, on supply of data concerning the benefits of ADI, the students were able to further improve on the design, producing a design in co-operation with Atkinson Vos designers that was lighter, stronger and economical.

This led to Atkinson Vos taking the final year students design concept from the drawing board to production.
