Simon Day - Managing Director

Simon has an extensive background, of over 30 years, in the heat treatment industry holding directorships in Production, Quality, Sales and Marketing. He has been Managing Director since December 1999; building and leading a team from scratch, with a mission to establish ADI as the material of choice for high strength, low weight engineering applications. Simon is a past Chairman and current Senior Vice-Chairman of the UK Contract Heat Treatment Association.
Arron Rimmer - Business Development Director

Arron received his BSc (Hons) in Metallurgy in 1991 from the University of Manchester and continued in the Metallurgy Department receving his MSc in 1992 and PhD in 1994. His MSc and PhD related to the Austempering of Ductile and Compacted irons. He joined ADI Treatments in 1997 and became a Director of the company in 1999. Arron is the main contact for pricing enquiries and technical questions.
John Southall - Operations Director

John joined the company as a furnace operator in 2009 and made a rise through the ranks to Senior Supervisor, a position he held from 2013 to 2018. The company recognised the need for a continous improvement role and John was successful at interview to take on this new challenge in mid 2018. The scope of the role developed to include managing both compliance issues and the production functions on site. John was invited to join the board of Directors at ADI in summer 2022, has responsibility for the day to day operations of the business at the West Bromwich site and is the main contact for any production or Health and Safety related issues.
Gordon Walker - Quality Manager

Gordon recieved his B.Eng in Metallurgy and Materials Science from the University of Liverpool and went straight into a quality role at a heat treatment company on completion of his degree. Gordon moved to ADI Treatments as Quality Manager in 2000. Gordon is the Management Representative for ISO 9001.
Angela Shepherd - Accounts Manager

After working in manufacturing roles for a number of years Angela decided she would like a new challenge and retrained in accounting by taking her AAT and CIMA qualifications. Angela is a member of CIMA and joined ADI Treatments in 2001.
Karle Tyler - Production Manager
Karle has been with ADI Treatments for over 20 years, operating exclusively in production roles, up to and including at Supervisor level, a role which he has performed for many years. With the increasing importance of making sure every kilogram of possible production is realised, the need for a dedicated Production Manager became increasingly apparent, and Karle was successful at interview to take on this important role in January 2023. He brings with him an in-depth understanding of both the plant and processes at ADI, providing support to the rest of the mangement team and Directors.
Sue Hodgkins - Despatch Clerk

Sue initially joined ADI as a general operative to help with the make up of furnace loads for treatment in 2003. As the company grew it became clear that a dedicated despatch clerk was required and Sue was successful at interview to take on this important role, which has developed to include many of the functions which keep a company running "in the background", and is one she has been performing since 2007.
Rhianne Beetham - Customs and Compliance Supervisor

After the full effects of the decision for the UK to leave the EU and the single market were understood, and the work which would be required to comply with the new customs regime and ship goods in and out of the UK became apparent, the company decided that creating a customs specific role to support our EU customers was needed. Rhianne took over in the role in the winter of 2021 and is the main contact for any customs related issues (Customs Practioner Level 4). She has recently expanded her role to take on many of the day to day aspects of compliance management in the business and supports the Management team and Directors to ensure compliance requirements are met (NEBOSH General Certifcate).
Kirsty Jones - Compliance Administrator

Kirsty joined the team in 2024 as our Compliance Administrator and quickly became a vital part of the business. She`s responsible for all things compliance - arranging training, keeping records up to date and providing day-to-day support to the Management team and Directors. Kirsty also works to streamline processes, boosting accountability, and ensures critical tasks are handled efficiently, all helping to keep operations on track. She has also completed her qualifications in Health and Safety (IOSH) and Environmental Management (IEMA), further strengthening her role and impact within the company.
Daniel Withnall - Engineering Supervisor

Daniel joined the engineering team at ADI in July 2021 and has applied his skills to gaining invaluable knowledge of the plant and procedures at ADI. He has, more recently, taken on more responsibility for ensuring compliance issues for the busy department are met and records are kept up to date, providing support to the Managers and Directors to ensure plant is well maintained, contractors are managed well, safety is upheld and compliance requirements are met.
George Cooper - Mechatronics Maintenance Technician

George joined the engineering team at ADI as an apprentice in 2019, quickly demonstrating a strong aptitude for learning and applying his skills to gain invaluable knowledge of the plant and its procedures. He successfully achieved his Level 3 Diploma as an Engineering Technician in March 2024. Currently, George is leading a continuous improvement initiative focused on monitoring and upgrading the PLC systems across the plant, all while pursuing a degree in Engineering.
